Main product

Below is our main and final product. Hannah and I are really pleased with how it has turned out. We have had some issues along the way which delayed the filming and the editing of it, however we managed to do it all. We feel as if the imagery and the scenes reflect what Ruth B is saying in her song Lost Boy.

Ancillary text- DVD cover

Below is my DVD cover that I have produced for one of my ancillary text. I am proud with how this turned out. I researched other DVD covers to get ideas for my own. To create the right side, I used screenshots from our music video. This shows the audience what to expect throughout the 'DVD'. For the left side, I have used a quote that we have also used in the music video. Again, I have used screenshots from the video to show the audience what to expect when they are watching it.

Ancillary text- Magazine cover

Here is my magazine cover, this is the second ancillary text. I have used a website called canvas. I used this to ensure it was good quality. I have used images from the music video and I have also added quotes.

4.How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

For this question, I will be creating a blog post for this question. There was multiple technologies we used for the construction, research and planning of our media product. The main media technology we used was the editing software we used to edit our production. The editing software is called Serif Movie plus. This was a really easy way to edit our production. The actual editing process took a long time to finish. However the learning of how to edit was fairly easy and efficient. having used this same editing software for my AS production I knew how to use it, but we have extended our knowledge and our skills so I had to learn more technical ways. Another media technology we used throughout the planning to the filming of the production was the camera we used. We had been given a camera to use by the school which was a Canon LEGRIA HFR706. However this camera was not the best quality, this meant that we used this camera and my own personal one from home which is a Nikon D3300.

3. What have you learned from your audience feedback?

Image
I have learnt a lot from my audience research. I asked our audience 5 questions, I then recorded what they had to say. The five questions were: 1. Does the music video go with the ancillary texts? 2. Did the character and the location match the video? 3. Do you think the camera angles helped the message that was being portrayed? 4. Did the imagery of the video match the soundtrack? 5. What improvements could be made/ what could we have done differently to the video? Here is our video of people answering our questions. Unfortunately, we lost quite a bit of footage of us asking a couple of other people the questions. However the clips we got are still helpful.

2. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

Below I have answered Q2. I have made posters presenting my ideas. I felt this was a good way of presenting my ideas as it is clear and I can also link the photos to the information clearly and easily.

1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

For question 1, I am going to be creating a Prezi. Below is the press I have created.  https://prezi.com/p/mdqof8xg4maj/
